New Funding for School Transport in Ukraine for 2025

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved additional funding for local budgets to buy school buses in 2025.

These funds will be directed to ten regions that urgently need to upgrade their transportation for students and teachers.

This decision marks a significant step toward ensuring quality education for every child, regardless of their place of residence or security situation.

The subsidy will enable communities to purchase new buses, including those specially equipped for transporting children with special educational needs. Procurements will be carried out with co-financing from local budgets and through the Prozorro Market platform, which will significantly expedite the processes.

The buses will be provided to:

  • Dnipropetrovsk region
  • Zaporizhzhia region
  • Kirovohrad region
  • Mykolaiv region
  • Odesa region
  • Sumy region
  • Kharkiv region
  • Khmelnytskyi region
  • Cherkasy region
  • Chernihiv region

The total amount of allocated subsidy is 273.7 million UAH.

This is part of a larger government program that plans to allocate 1.6 billion UAH in 2025 for the purchase of over 500 buses for communities. Priority will be given to hub schools, military lyceums, institutions accepting students from other territories, and schools that have lost transport due to the war. It is worth noting that since the beginning of the year, communities have already purchased 110 buses.
