Tulips for Ukraine: New Floral Initiatives
During the large-scale invasion, the Netherlands gifted Odessa 42,000 tulip bulbs, which have adorned the city for two consecutive springs, delighting locals and visitors alike.
In 2024, thanks to the efforts of Honorary Consul of Ukraine in the Netherlands Mr. Emil de Sevren Jaquet and the head of the Association of Dutch Tulip Producers Tulip Promotion Netherlands Mr. Aryan Smit, Ukrainian communities received 450,000 tulips.
These lovely flowers have beautified the gardens of Kyiv, Odessa, Lviv, Bucha, and other cities. This time, Mr. Aryan Smit arrived with a new initiative from Dutch entrepreneurs — to donate one million tulips to Ukraine in 2025.
Mr. Aryan Smit visited the office of KP “Miskzelentrest,” where they discussed the quantity and timelines for providing planting materials.
Additionally, during a meeting with the Director of the Department of International Cooperation, Culture, and Marketing Ivan Liptuga, other directions for future cooperation with the Netherlands were also discussed.
