Martial Arts Festival Honoring Ukraine's Heroes

The city of Odesa hosted a martial arts festival named "Unbroken", dedicated to the memory of heroes who sacrificed their lives for the homeland.

This event takes place several times a year, each time honoring a specific soldier. It involves relatives of the fallen, veterans, and representatives of sports organizations, all coming together for a common cause.

"Events like this are essential for both our country and ourselves. We have a responsibility to remember and honor those who gave their lives for Ukraine," emphasized festival organizer Denis Zharkov.

Volodymyr Yermakov, head of the city’s Department for Veterans Affairs, highlighted the need for a culture of memory: "We must change our attitude towards commemoration - to foster a true culture of remembrance. This is crucial for those who have faced the horrors of war, for the parents of the fallen, and for our society as a whole. Memory is our strength and duty."

The festival featured athletes from various federations showcasing their skills in Japanese martial art Kudo, MMA, boxing, and adaptive jiu-jitsu.

The event was organized in partnership with the Odesa City Council's Department for Veterans Affairs.
