New Stamp Series Featuring Ukraine's Lighthouses
Ukrpost is set to release a series of stamps featuring lighthouses from the Black and Azov Seas, including those located in the temporarily occupied region of Crimea.
This collection is part of the 'Lighthouses of Ukraine' series that was initiated in 2009, as stated by the company.
This year's stamp release coincides with the 25th anniversary of the Hydrographic Service's establishment, which oversees the maintenance of Ukrainian lighthouses.
'The new stamps will tell the stories of the lighthouses of the Black and Azov Seas, as well as the Crimean lighthouses that, despite being temporarily occupied, remain an integral part of Ukraine in both geography and the hearts of its people,' explained Ukrpost.
The stamps will feature:
- lighthouses in Crimea: Ai-Todor and Chaudin;
- Shagansky Lighthouse in Odesa region;
- Bilosaraysky and Berdyansky Upper Lighthouses in the Sea of Azov;
- Russian Rear Lighthouse in Mykolaiv region.
