Military and Volunteers Unite for Blood Donation in Odesa
The volunteer initiative «Donor Odesa» has seen participation from the military personnel of the Marine Guard of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, who conducted a collective blood donation.
The combined efforts of the coast guards and volunteers will help save numerous lives. This is crucial at a time when the demand for donor blood remains extremely high due to the ongoing war.
«We understand how vital it is to have a blood reserve. In wartime, this resource is invaluable and can save the lives of our comrades, injured civilians, and every Ukrainian in need of urgent care», say the coast guards involved in replenishing the city’s blood bank.
This is not the first time the coast guards have participated in such initiatives - they believe assistance should be consistent, not a one-time event.
Today, blood donation represents another line of defense for Ukraine.
The event was part of the charitable project «Weeks of Good Deeds».
The photographs were taken by Boris Buhman, an Honored Donor.

Since the onset of the full-scale war, the project «Donor Odesa» has been actively engaging blood donors for the city’s medical facilities and organizing educational events aimed at promoting donation. During this time, the project has facilitated over 12,000 blood donations, saving thousands of lives.
It is now essential for everyone who can donate blood to participate.
