Heroism and Achievements of Ukrainian Veterans at the Winter Games

The Mayor of Odessa, Hennadiy Trukhanov, awarded the Honorable Badge «Gratitude» to Yevhen Kaush, a participant of the Invictus Winter Games 2025. 
Yevhen is a veteran of the Russian-Ukrainian war and a member of the «Federation of Marine Multisports of Ukraine» as well as a certified rowing coach.

During his service, he fought in the Kherson region and was injured. After demobilization and rehabilitation, he pursued powerlifting and archery, eventually becoming a rowing coach. In 2024, he and his team rowed 55 km, earning the silver FORTIS ring. 

He participated in the national selection for the Invictus Games and joined Team Ukraine.

Yevhen represented Odessa at the inaugural Invictus Winter Games in Canada, competing in curling, biathlon, and skeleton.
This year, the Ukrainian team was the largest in history, consisting of 35 military personnel and veterans.
