Odessa Man Arrested for Killing Friend
In Odessa, police have uncovered a man involved in the murder of his friend. The assailant killed his acquaintance with a bottle, fists, and feet after suspecting him of stealing a wallet. The suspect has been charged and a preventive measure has been imposed. He faces up to 15 years in prison.

Recently, a woman in Odessa found a bloodied body of a man near a high-rise building on Heroes of Kruty Street and called the police. A forensic team and a mobile DNA lab were dispatched to the scene. Within half an hour, law enforcement identified a 37-year-old man with a criminal record for theft as being involved in the incident.
"The police determined that the night before, the suspect and his 43-year-old local friend had been drinking alcohol in an area between the buildings. In the heat of the drunken festivities, the younger man could not find his wallet and began accusing the older man of theft. During the ensuing conflict, he brutally beat the older man to death with a glass bottle, fists, and feet.
The deceased's body was sent for a forensic examination to determine the cause of death, while the suspect was located and apprehended near the crime scene. Officers seized a wallet he had overlooked in his pocket, bloody clothing, and other items of significance to the investigation", the report stated.
Investigators have charged the detainee with intentional murder. This crime is punishable by up to 15 years of imprisonment. At the request of the investigators, the court has imposed a preventive measure of detention.
